Stay Ahead with ICONIQ

Social engineering attacks have become more frequent and increasingly sophisticated in recent years. Generative AI has generally made it easy for attackers to forge hyper-realistic impersonations across websites, social platforms, advertising channels, enterprise apps, emails, and everywhere else we interact routinely online. AI-powered website builders can now spin up exact clones of login pages in minutes designed to steal your password. Deepfake tools can produce convincing videos of Fortune 10 CEOs urging customers to hand over sensitive information in return for a fake prize they may never get. This has all culminated in vast amounts of personal data being stolen online, with more serious downstream consequences like account takeovers and targeted harassment. In many ways, the internet is evolving faster than some existing cybersecurity defenses can keep up.

Outtake is building the digital trust platform for this new era, one that helps secure modern attack surfaces with advanced multi-modal search, real-time threat classification, and faster autonomous response. In an age where AI-driven attacks are evolving and maturing rapidly, Outtake delivers agentic AI defenses that help scale critical security workflows, adapt as threats evolve, and improve as fast as their given feedback. Today, we are excited to announce our partnership with Outtake by leading their Series B to support the team’s mission of defending digital trust with modern security teams.  

Traditional brand protection, executive protection and threat intelligence solutions have historically been service-heavy categories,with slow, manual, and reactive response. Legacy vendors treat attacks as isolated incidents, relying on takedown services that fail to uncover the broader campaign behind them. Some more recent AI-enhanced offerings help automate threat detection and remediation, but still rely heavily on human laborers for large scale response. These first- and second-generation approaches worked when threats evolved more gradually. But with generative AI, we believe the tempo has changed entirely: enterprises and governments may now face a structural gap between the industrialized pace of attacks and the human-scale of existing solutions.

Outtake differs from traditional approaches by supporting the full response lifecycle from detection through classification and remediation enforcement. This is achieved by their fully agentic framework that can work alongside security experts to help reason across channels and reduce manual burdens in hunting coordinated campaigns. Outtake’s system is configured to mirror key anti-impersonation and anti-fraud workflows, linking individual threat signals into a map of related abuse activity. They’re helping empower leading security teams and dismantle scattered attack nodes at internet scale. This approach can provide more granular insight into emerging attack patterns, support faster response times, and scale more broadly beyond what many manual or rules-based approaches can realistically achieve.

In just two years, Outtake has been adopted by a number of technically sophisticated security operations across the world, supporting efforts to combat multi-channel social engineering for their organizations.

Customers highlight Outtake’s ability to deliver rapid time to value, detecting and resolving threats across platforms in hours instead of what was traditionally days, weeks or even months. Outtake supports operations across payments infrastructure, global retail, high growth tech, critical infrastructure, and federal agencies. In such cases, Outtake has reduced security operational burdens in identifying and dismantling coordinated fraud that has become increasingly prevalent. As a result, adoption has grown quickly, with customers expanding use cases as the platform becomes more integrated to support safeguarding their digital trust and reputation in the age of increasing AI-driven deception. 

We believe Outtake’s success with discerning, technically sophisticated customers stems from the strength and depth of its team. Founder and CEO Alex Dhillon, a triple major at UC Berkeley and former forward deployed engineer at Palantir, has worked to build a technically rigorous, product-first, and customer-obsessed organization composed of former founders and alumni from companies like Palantir, SpaceX, Notion, Meta, and Microsoft. They’re focused on addressing customer pain with tight feedback loops and clear execution, seeking to build a culture that is shaped by the urgency of the challenges modern security teams face.

As AI continues to reshape what can be created, shared, and trusted online, we believe the stakes will only rise. In our view, what we’re seeing today, executive impersonations manipulating customers, cloned websites phishing for credentials, AI-generated content deceiving the most tech savvy online communities, is just the tip of the iceberg.
